Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje’i, the head of Iran’s judiciary, has issued a stern warning to US President Donald Trump, describing the Strait of Hormuz as an ‘inseparable part’ of Iran’s territorial waters and land.

In a message posted on social media on Saturday, he stated, “The Strait of Hormuz is an inseparable part of Iran’s territory and border areas. Any ‘adventurous step’ attempted in this strategically important waterway will be met with a harsh response.”

Claiming Trump’s recent remarks to be baseless, Mohseni-Eje’i stated that Iran holds rights over the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law and the principles of national sovereignty.

He further claimed that in the harsh reality of political and military conflicts, Trump is a ‘defeated person’. According to him, Trump’s statements are essentially nothing but ‘virtual bluster and meaningless talk’.

This top Iranian official warned that no one can establish dominance in the Strait of Hormuz through arrogance. He stated that what aircraft carriers built at the cost of billions of dollars could not achieve, also cannot be achieved through a few social media posts and statements.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy transit routes. Therefore, if tensions between the US and Iran further escalate around this strategic waterway, it could have a negative impact on the international energy market.
