    President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Takes Oath

    Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been sworn in as the 23rd President of the country. He took the oath from Kayser Kamal, the acting Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament), at 7:30 PM on Friday (August 21) at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban.

    The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani. The formalities commenced with the national anthem and recitation from the Holy Quran. After taking the oath, the new President signed the oath book in accordance with established tradition.
