Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announced that the government is working to deliver healthcare services to poor and marginalized people. He made this statement on Saturday (August 15) during a discussion held after the inauguration of the new expanded 500-bed building of the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital in Agargaon, Dhaka.

The Prime Minister stated that while technology can diagnose diseases, there is no alternative to doctors being humane towards patients. He emphasized that a relationship of mutual trust and respect should exist among doctors, patients, and concerned relatives.

He added that the government has paid special attention to child health and will inaugurate five specialized hospitals next October.

The success of health and medical services depends on the role of everyone involved in the relevant sector.

Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the new expanded 500-bed building of the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital. The head of government also participated in prayers and supplications.

Later, the Prime Minister planted a sapling in the hospital compound.
