    Indian High Commissioner Meets Prime Minister to Strengthen Bangladesh-India Ties

    Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka, Dinesh Trivedi, met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to further strengthen Bangladesh-India bilateral relations. During the meeting, discussions were held on economic cooperation between the two countries, border management, various issues of mutual interest, and ways to advance bilateral relations in the future.

    The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday (August 10) at around 11:00 AM.

    According to diplomatic sources, the meeting emphasized enhancing economic cooperation between Bangladesh and India, making border management more effective, and strengthening cooperation on issues of mutual interest. Various potential initiatives to further solidify the existing relationship were also discussed.

    Earlier on Sunday (August 9), Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi spoke about the future of Bangladesh-India relations at the inauguration of a new play area for children at the Indian Visa Application Centre in Dhaka. He stated that the relationship between the common people of the two countries is very strong and expressed hope that this cordiality would further extend to the governmental level.

    Praising Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s leadership, Dinesh Trivedi referred to him as a pro-people leader. He also mentioned that India’s Prime Minister is also pro-people and stated that many complex issues could be resolved through discussions if the heads of government of the two neighboring countries work together.

    Furthermore, the Indian High Commissioner also announced initiatives to make Indian visa services in Bangladesh easier and more effective. He informed that various steps are being taken to increase the capacity for receiving and processing visa applications, reduce costs for applicants’ convenience, and improve service quality.

    Diplomatic sources indicate that Monday’s meeting emphasized overall aspects of Bangladesh-India bilateral relations, as well as specific issues such as visa services, economic cooperation, and border management.
