Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has officially inaugurated the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum, established to preserve the memory of those martyred in the July 2024 Mass Uprising and to present the history of the movement to future generations.

He inaugurated the museum, located in the former official residence, Ganabhaban, in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, at 9 AM on Wednesday (August 5). The initiative to open the museum to the public was taken to mark the second anniversary of the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, 2024.

Senior government officials, advisors, former Chief Advisor of the interim government Dr. Yunus, family members of the valiant martyrs, injured fighters, representatives of various political parties, diplomats, and invited guests were present at the inauguration ceremony.

The government announced that the museum houses various photographs, documents, video footage, personal memorabilia, and other important artifacts related to the July Mass Uprising. This initiative aims to present the events of 2024 and the history of the mass uprising to new generations, while also preserving the memory of the martyrs’ sacrifices.

While the museum remained reserved for special guests and the families of the martyrs on August 5, it will be open to general visitors from August 6.
